This Overland Park home needed to be opened up! Our customer contacted Schloegel to widen the doorway from the kitchen to the living room. The existing opening was 4 feet wide. After Schloegel finished up, the opening size was more than doubled. This wider opening allows the customer to keep an eye on the family (and the TV) while they enjoy family dinners and cooking.
We were able to complete this project without having to install a new header since the wall was non-load bearing. The flooring was different in the two rooms so we added a new header in the wood floor and had all of the wood floors refinished throughout the first floor.
