  • Three 2017 Bathroom Design Trends You Can Incorporate This Month

Last updated on January 14, 2021

We’re always looking for next best thing, but more often than not the latest trends are simply old styles refreshed for modern aesthetics. This is just the case with many of 2017’s bathroom design trends. Our designer Megan, who recently attended the Kohler Trends Workshop, is here to share some takeaways from the event.

1. Believe it or not, brass is back. This isn’t the brass of decades past, however. This brass is usually treated to look more industrial or textured than than it’s shinier predecessors.

2. Say goodbye to white and grey. Color is coming back, whether it’s in a paint color or or accent tile. Megan suggested that those who were nervous about committing to a bold color throughout an entire room should first experiment with using it in a small bathroom or utility area.

“That way, if you don’t like how it looks, it’s easy to switch it back,” she said.

 3. A sink is not just a sink in 2017.

“Sinks are now art,” Megan said. Look for a sink with a personality, whether it’s in a bold color of porcelain, an ornate glass bowl or an untraditional shape or texture.

“It will definitely bring a lot of interest to any bathroom,” she added.
