This 1990s-built Lake of the Ozarks home was ready for a modern refresh, starting with the primary bathroom. While the space was functional, the layout and finishes no longer supported how the homeowners actually used the room. Project Overview
The primary bathroom in this Lake of the Ozarks home had great potential but felt dated and inefficient. Oversized features and a segmented layout limited functionality, making it an ideal candidate for a remodel focused on flow, comfort, and longevity.
As a team offering both full scale remodeling and handyman services, we were able to handle everything from layout changes to detailed finish work with consistency and care.
Improving Layout & Function
To better support how our clients use the space, we removed the large, dated tub and relocated the shower into that footprint. As field director for our lake projects, Keith Brockman managed the logistics of the remodel, keeping the project on track despite the unique challenges of a lake home.
This allowed us to create a larger shower with more room.
We framed in the half wall where the old tub used to be, turning it into a full wall to make room for the new shower.
Achieving this new layout required relocating plumbing and drain lines, along with retiling the toilet room to accommodate the changes.
Addressing Hidden Issues
During demo, we discovered mold behind the existing drywall. Our team removed all affected materials and rebuilt the area properly to eliminate the issue and ensure a clean, healthy space—an important step for long-term durability in older Lake of the Ozarks homes.
A Seamless, Thoughtful Refresh
One of the goals of this remodel was to ensure new updates blended seamlessly with existing features that remained, including the vanity. We also closed off part of the half wall separating the tub from the bedroom so the new shower could be fully waterproofed and properly constructed.
This attention to detail is a key part of our approach to remodeling and handyman services, and it’s how we deliver the ultimate client experience from start to finish. The result is a primary bathroom that functions better for everyday life in a Lake of the Ozarks home.
Continuing the Transformation
