In a departure from our usual approach, the Mission Hills home called for rethinking the kitchen island due to traffic concerns. A redesigned layout maximized space, incorporating an underutilized dining room wall. Removing the island and introducing a peninsula enhanced functionality and movement. The kitchen boasts elegant white cabinetry, gold hardware, ceiling-height backsplash, and matte quartz counters for a timeless appeal. Meanwhile, the laundry room underwent a transformation with added storage, custom dog kennels, a practical clothes rack, and the same kitchen counter for folding. Vibrant wallpaper and green-white checkered tile invigorate the space, making laundry a delightful task.

A rare opportunity presented itself in this Mission Hills residence—a blank canvas for a distinctive endeavor. Megan transformed the underutilized formal dining space into a warm and inviting haven. Hardwood floors mirror the stained plank ceiling and exposed beams. Unique green cabinetry, distressed for character, gracefully houses the client's cherished books, records, and memorabilia. Vintage-inspired brass fixtures and a solid wood rolling door with a herringbone pattern add finishing touches. The powder bath brims with personality, showcasing an open-frame vanity against bold wallpaper for a classic-yet-bold contrast.

Our clients aimed to complete their predominantly unfinished basement, seamlessly integrating it with the contemporary design of their home. Their vision was to create an oasis for relaxation, whether enjoying movies or hosting game nights. Their elevated space now boasts a home theater and a custom bar that's practically a full kitchen, complete with a fridge, dishwasher, sink, and microwave, fulfilling their dream retreat.
