Green Glass Kitchen Remodel | Brookside, Kansas City Kitchen Renovation

Sometimes a remodel is about fixing what’s broken. Other times it’s about letting a little personality shine.

For this Brookside kitchen renovation, the goal was to transform a closed-off, dated space into something bright, modern, and fun to cook in. The existing kitchen felt small and disconnected from the rest of the home. Jerick Stockton worked with our wonderful clients to rethink the layout and brought in bold materials, the space now feels open, light-filled, and full of character.

One of the biggest changes was expanding the kitchen footprint into the underused dining room. This allowed the team to create a much larger kitchen while still maintaining a comfortable dining area for everyday living. The result is a sleek, European-inspired kitchen centered around glossy cabinetry and a striking green glass backsplash.

Before the Kitchen Renovation

Before remodeling, the kitchen had several challenges:

Closed-off layout that limited flow
Dark finishes that made the space feel smaller
Underutilized dining room space
Limited storage and inefficient workspace
The solution was to open the plan and give the kitchen more room to breathe.

Improved Layout & Storage

Reconfiguring the floor plan dramatically improved how the space functions.

Key improvements included:

Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room
Expanding the kitchen footprint
Creating better flow for cooking and entertaining
Converting the sunroom area into a dedicated pantry for storage
Now everything the homeowners need is within reach without trips to the basement.
