Belinder Road Kitchen & Baths

Project by Megan Bringman

This Leawood kitchen had layers of design trends long past and needed a stripping back and rebuild while maintaining the bucolic aesthetic the homeowners loved. The space before served as a kitchen and informal dining combo which limited the counter space and storage possibilities. We shifted the window layout and extended the cabinetry to provide more space for all new appliances and work areas. The old dining table became an island with bar seating. The new, simpler color palette remains striking but allows this client's tchotchkes to shine. We love the personalized accent tile above the cook top. The two bathrooms also suffered from out-of-date finishings and received the same treatment as the kitchen with new cabinetry, tile, fixtures, and paint. Also similar to the kitchen, the new baths boast quieter color palettes and fun accent patterns where they provide the most impact.
