  • 2018 Begins A New Chapter at Schloegel

Last updated on March 13, 2024

With the new year comes an exciting new chapter at Schloegel Design Remodel. We are proud to announce that Charlie Schloegel, CR, UDCP and Chris Peterson, MCR, CLC, have transitioned to the ownership team.

History has proven the most successful ventures are those where ownership is passed to long-term team members. We know that will be true of Schloegel Design Remodel as Chris has been with the company since 1996 and Charlie since 2006.

Company History

Jake Schloegel, CR, founded Schloegel Design Remodel in 1980. Since the company’s start, we have grown to over 50 team members. Not only have we realized great growth, but we have also been privileged with many award-winning designs and remodeling projects. But perhaps our most significant accolades have come from within our industry.

Under Jake Schloegel’s leadership, Schloegel was awarded the 2017 National Association of the Remodeling Industry’s (NARI) Peter H. Johnson Image Award. Jake also received the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from NARI for his contributions to the industry as a whole.

Change in Ownership

Jake built Schloegel Design Remodel using leadership principles designed to develop every member of the team. The change in ownership responsibilities is a natural progression of those principles.

One indicator of the success, in this leadership approach, is how long many of our team members have been with the company. This is especially true in an industry often plagued by high turnover.

Chris and Charlie have not only proven they are capable of continuing the impressive growth we’ve enjoyed over the years, but they’ve also earned the right to take this business to entirely new heights,” remarked Jake Schloegel upon announcing the transition.

Another awesome indicator of success is the double-digit growth we’ve experienced in each of the past three years.

Collectively, Chris and I have been members of the SDR team for over thirty years, and we are very excited to continue the legacy of quality craftsmanship and remarkable customer care while exploring new opportunities to expand our role in the community,” said Charlie Schloegel during the announcement.

While the transition was effective January 1, 2018, we’re not letting Jake leave yet. In this new chapter, he’ll continue to have an active leadership role within the company, albeit with fewer hours.
