Last updated on September 30, 2022

Thank you, Kansas City Homes & Style, for sharing this incredible home office designed by Donna Kirsopp! As a standalone room, the home office is stunning. When you add in the full picture of the home it is all a design primarypiece! Our team has had the privilege to work with the wonderful homeowners on two projects to transform this home. The homeowners’ extensive travel is reflected throughout the home’s contemporary design. Take a look at the main floor renovation. We’ve also added a few updated photos below.

Contemporary Home Office

The home office was originally a dark paneled room that was closed off. It was an awkward and not very inviting space. “We opened up the closed-off space and raised the header so it’s flush with the existing ceiling,” noted Kirsopp. “We raised the header flush with the existing ceiling joist and created a larger opening to the area.” From there the Billy Andrews, John Molner, and the Schloegel team installed a new skylight for natural light, engineered hardwood floors, and the custom-designed desk and credenza. The black and white cabinets are made of contemporary reconstituted veneer cabinetry that was bleached and stained to a consistent grain. They’re the reverse of the kitchen cabinets.

Contemporary Main Floor

As mentioned before our team completed an amazing contemporary remodel on the home’s main floor back in 2017. If you want to follow along the project here is Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5, Week 6, Week 7, Week 8, Week 9 & Week 10. Yes, it was a fairly large project. Here are a few photos of this remarkable home!
