Stay tuned for the inside scoop on this unique project!
Pain Points
According to Lindsay, the moment you step inside from the garage, you're met with an immediate challenge. There's simply no space or designated spot to drop the everyday essentials – backpacks, coats, and shoes end up creating a bottleneck in an already narrow entryway. For a family of four navigating this space multiple times a day, it becomes a constant source of frustration and clutter.
Just a few steps further in, the refrigerator's placement adds another layer of inconvenience. Situated right inside this tight entryway, opening the fridge effectively blocks all passage. Whether someone is grabbing a snack or putting away groceries, the flow from the garage, laundry room, or even a quick trip to the powder bath grinds to a halt.
Beyond the entry, the layout of the kitchen itself presents further obstacles. The existing peninsula acts as a barrier, awkwardly separating the kitchen workspace from the eating area and back door. This makes quick trips outside – especially for letting the dog out or enjoying the backyard – feel like navigating an obstacle course.
Finally, the overall aesthetic of the current kitchen simply doesn't resonate with Lindsay and her family's vision. The space feels dark and dated, lacking the bright and modern feel they're looking for. Along with limited counter space, the kitchen doesn't offer the enjoyable and efficient environment the Brungardt's are looking to achieve.

Existing Plans
The laundry room, while functional, isn't making the most of its square footage, leaving valuable space underutilized. More significantly, the kitchen's configuration doesn't align with how Lindsay and her family actually use the space. The peninsula, intended as a gathering spot, ironically creates a barrier, cutting off the natural flow to the eating area and the frequently used back door – a detail anyone with kids or pets can certainly understand! These are the types of spatial disconnects we're excited to resolve for Lindsay and her family.
