It's been a minute since we last checked in on our very own designer, Lindsay's, Designer Turned Client project, but the wait was worth it! We're back with some AMAZING updates as this remodel is officially in the home stretch.
Since our last check-in, the space has undergone a huge transformation. We've had cabinets installed, counters laid, paint on the walls, wallpaper and tile added as accents and it's really coming together!
If you missed the past posts and need a refresher, check out Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5, and Week 6!
Cabinets: The Foundation of Functionality
The first step was installing all of the cabinetry, and the results are stunning. We started with the perimeter pieces. This step instantly defined the perimeter of the kitchen space. Next, was the large island piece, which will serve as the main hub of the kitchen. Lindsay chose three different finishes for the cabinets in the kitchen area which adds some moody dimension! The island is black and really anchors the space. The perimeters are a combination of a warm White Oak and a beige which help brighten things up. One of the final steps is the custom wood tabletop piece that will act as the main dining spot.

Beyond the kitchen, we also installed the bathroom vanity in an Iron Ore shade, and the laundry room cabinets and shelves are the shade Surf which is a calm subtle blue tone. Finally, we can’t forget the hardworking mudroom drop zone just off the garage entry. This custom cabinetry provides the perfect foundation for all the storage and organization this busy family needs.

Counters & Paint: A Fresh, New Palette
With the cabinets in place, it was time to add the beautiful finishes. We installed the ONE Quartz stone looking counters in Noble Grey and the bold, large-format pieces of Diamond Mine Porcelain backsplash, which immediately added a new layer of character.

Lindsay hung a cute statement dog wallpaper in the powder bath to add some character to the space. With the mirror and lights hung this bathroom will be a showstopper!

As for paint, the entire space was then transformed with a few fresh coats. The fireplace trim was painted black to match the kitchen island. The rest of the walls are a light grey shade, Benjamin Moore 861 Shale, throughout the main floor.

Tile: Adding Texture and Charm
Tile adds so much detail to a space. We laid bold matte black faux brick tile in a herringbone pattern on the fireplace surround, which instantly became a stunning focal point. A lighter marble tile in a scallop shape adds some extra dimension and makes the fireplace really pop. In the laundry room, we installed a beautiful backsplash that adds a touch of charm and personality to the space.
