Falmouth Street Kitchen & Living Room
Project by Ron Webster
These clients in Prairie Village wanted a kitchen that was more integrated with their living areas. The kitchen before was enclosed with doorways leading to the living areas. This made it feel closed off. We removed two framed walls to create accessibility to the rest of the home. At one end, an underutilized dinette was removed and a wall and frosted glass door were added to create a new space that serves as storage or a walk-in pantry. The new combination of white cabinetry, countertops, and herringbone pattern backsplash bounce the newly available natural light around the room. The new appliance layout allows for more work space on long stretches of countertop. New wood floors were installed across all three spaces to further tie them together.
