Northwest 78th Street
Project by Kelly Summers
These clients are successful commercial architects and had recently performed their own renovation on their kitchen. When it came to the rest of the home, they decided to let someone else handle the remodeling. As a trial run, we started in the upstairs bath. We soon established trust with these homeowners and began planning a total home makeover with their now modernized kitchen serving as inspiration. Built in 1988, the house showed its age with carpet throughout and an overall beige aesthetic. We immediately knew we wanted to replace the carpet and replaced it with hardwoods in a warm tone. Around the new floors we designed a more open, contemporary, and creative space. Some striking details include unique drywall panels featured throughout and a completely reimagined staircase.
