Schloegel Design Remodel has worked with NARI through “Operation Soldier Assist” to provide remodeling assistance to soldiers returning from combat.
NARI works with the Kansas City Association of the US Army to identify soldiers whose homes might need a some improvement and TLC. Working with NARI, Schloegel helped to make repairs throughout Sgt. George Bellis’ home. During his deployment in Iraq, Sgt. Bellis was involved in several incidents where other vehicles in his convoy were struck by improvised explosive devices. Sgt. Bellis suffered severe concussions and head injuries. Upon his return to the United States, Sgt. Bellis was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and later with Traumatic Brain Injury. Sgt. Bellis’ wife quit her job to care for him and their three children.
Schloegel helped to construct a new deck off the back of the home, replace the broken patio door, and repair the damaged soffits and facia over the deck.
