This client’s condo is really done up to the nines! Recently she had a need for a larger television, but she didn’t want to change the entire look and feel of the room, nor did she want to throw off the balance of the two identical cabinets already in place on each side of the room. So when she approached our Handyman with this bit of a complicated project, we were definitely up for the challenge.
First, we removed the upper section of one of the cabinets, leaving the base intact. After the upper portion of the cabinet was cut back, we re-purposed the existing trim at the top of the cabinet to create a clean edge where the upper portion had been cut off. We then ran new electrical and HDMI cord in the wall for the television, mounted the T.V. bracket and then the television itself. After all of this we patched up the ceiling and walls and painted to ensure a nice clean finished look.
The end result: a great space for a larger television, while keeping the balance in the room intact.
