West 131st Terrace - Overland Park Screened Porch

Project by Perry Holloway

These clients had been working hard to create a cohesive look to the interior of their Overland Park home and finally decided it was time to prioritize the patio space that lives off of the kitchen and dining area. The space before felt dated and didn't match the rest of the updated home. The new design opens up the space where before it felt closed off with lattice. The new black railings provide a sleeker look and the new stone tile in variegated tans and cool grays set in a herringbone pattern provides texture. Included in the new flooring is an integrated drainage system to prevent pooling water. We replaced the overly traditional lighting fixtures with more contemporary ones in matte black and added pendant lights for more focused illumination. For a clean finish, we installed white beadboard paneling to the ceiling.
