West 69th Street - Mission Hills Kitchen Remodel
Project by Donna Kirsopp & Kenny Choikhit
This Mission Hills kitchen is an example of how thoughtful updates can make a big impact without the need for a total reimagination. This project focused on enhancing functionality while preserving the homeowner's style with a fresh, updated look. Donna Kirsopp and Kenny Choikhit worked with these clients to really understand their lifestyle and daily needs to craft a kitchen tailored to them. The perimeter cabinetry was replaced, but maintained the same color and style with more convenient features and locations. With some of the old cabinetry removed, we were able to create a more open feeling around the sink and cooking area, making way for a sleek range hood and striking mosaic tile backsplash. Our clients opted to keep the dual sinks to allow multiple cooks to work comfortably. The island also go a functional update with integrated outlets, an extended countertop to allow seating, and a darling soft blue color. Mirroring this pop of color is a new buffet. To keep everyday clutter at bay, an end cap near the exterior door serves as as smart drop zone with a roll-up door for discreet storage. The result is a refreshed, more functional kitchen with plenty of charm.
