What a difference some new sheetrock can make! This week, the project began to really take form as we finished hanging and patching drywall, replaced trim and crown molding, and even began installation of the mantle and shelves around the fireplace. If that weren’t enough, the new cabinets were also delivered this week, and the new hardwood floors were completed.
But let’s start from the beginning. This week Sam began with work on the crown molding and shelving around the fireplace while new drywall was installed.
Next, portions of the subfloor were repaired in preparation for the new hardwood floors.
Then, the beautiful hardwood floors were installed. We worked to “Blend” the new hardwood into the existing hardwood. Once the new wood is stained and finished, no one will be able to tell the difference! This technique was exciting for the homeowners who wanted to keep as much of the existing hardwood as possible.
Then, at the end of the week, the cabinets were all delivered.
Over the weekend, Sam will begin cabinet installation and will work toward completion next week.
Overall, this was a really exciting week! The remodel is really beginning to take shape and the vision of the new kitchen is closer to becoming reality.
Until next time!
