Our Handyman Services Team recently completed a project for some Overland Park clients who wanted to get more use out of their existing covered deck. The space was great for shade, but bugs often made it hard to enjoy. Our goal was to create a functional, bug-free screened-in porch that felt like a natural extension of the home, not an afterthought.

The key to this project was seamless integration. By utilizing the existing deck structure and roof, our team was able to add durable screens creating a sleek look. Gerard began by building the necessary framework for the new screens, which included cutting and installing the various sections. He then carefully cut trim pieces, ensuring they would integrate seamlessly with the deck's existing structure. To achieve a perfect finish, he stained all the new trim to match the color and tone of the original deck. This attention to detail ensures the final screen porch looks like it was always part of the home.

Once all the frame pieces were installed it was time to hang the screens. Our clients also wanted a new door to refresh the space. Gerard installed a sleek full glass door as opposed to the previous dated screen door.

The final result is a beautiful, screened deck that looks like it was designed and built at the same time as the rest of the home. The quick and efficient nature of this project proves that you don't always need a major overhaul to transform your outdoor living space.
