Introducing Macy Enderle

We’re so excited to introduce you to our 2021 Big Splash recipient, Macy Enderle. Macy has spent her ten years overcoming obstacles most of us can’t fathom. She was placed with Erica Enderle when she was 4 months old. Erica knew she was meant to be Macy’s mother. She immediately worked towards adopting her and the process was completed when Macy was 2.  Macy has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Cortical Visual Impairment, and GERD. In 2019 she developed GI issues requiring a g-tube and central line for nutrition.

Despite overwhelming obstacles, Macy continues to be a light to those around her. She is kind and loving with a fantastic smile and soothing energy. Her family has given her the nickname Therapy Baby because of the effect she has on others. Macy loves lighted and musical toys, cuddling, being rocked, and bouncing in her chair.

Bathroom Obstacles

Macy shares a bathroom with her five siblings and several of them also have special needs so the bathroom’s function is imperative. The current bathroom is small and has a tight alcove shower with just enough room for her shower chair. The sliding glass doors leave little room to get Macy in and out and there is always a risk of slipping.

Kelly Summers, CKBR has already started working with Erica to design a bathroom better suited to Macy and her siblings’ needs. We’re so excited to spend time with the Enderle family and create a bathroom that better suits their needs.

We feel blessed to have another year where we get to put our skills to good use and help a deserving family in the Kansas City area! Our wonderful clients, vendors, subcontractors, and LoveFund for Children make Big Splash possible! We will start work on this project early next year and we will make sure to share its progress.
