Last updated on January 14, 2021

This is week 9 of the Kansas City Contemporary Home Renovation Series. Just in case you missed it, here’s Week 1, Week 2Week 3Week 4, Week 5Week 6, Week 7,  and Week 8.

The time has finally come, the reveal of our Kansas City Contemporary Home Renovation! The original kitchen was much darker with only one window letting in natural light. And while it had ample space it didn’t take advantage of the height of the kitchen. The project also re-located the laundry room, powder bathroom and updated the entryway, dining room and family room.

The transformation is amazing and hardly recognizable. The new kitchen has tons of natural light coming in from the windows and skylights. The new cabinets take full advantage of the height in the kitchen. Removing the dining area in the kitchen allowed for more cabinet space as well as room for the new live edge table. The live edge wood pieces are beautiful focal points.

The fireplace bricks and the bar area were removed. Art shelves were created in the former bar area. The fireplace looks stunning with the new tile and the open art shelves make the room feel more open.

Prep Kitchen

The former laundry room is now a beautiful new prep kitchen. The prep kitchen has storage for small appliances, a sink, and refrigerator drawers making it the perfect place to juice fresh fruits and vegetables every day.

A powder bathroom was added off of the family room a much more convenient spot when entertaining. The live edge vanity and light fixture add awesome drama to the small room.
