Basement- Gold & All-Star

a custom designed music listening room with custon vinyl storage

This basement music room transformed a small, underused space into a warm, sophisticated retreat centered around the client’s rare vintage Altec Lansing 19 speakers. By opening the wall between a former game room and a tucked-away listening nook, the project created two connected zones: a dedicated listening room and a vinyl “vault” for organized storage and display. Custom rift-sawn white oak cabinetry, a plaid menswear-inspired carpet, and carefully layered lighting establish a cozy, tailored atmosphere that balances comfort, style, and acoustics. Every detail, from integrated speaker storage to hidden cabling and built-in bar elements, was designed to support both function and aesthetic, making the space as practical as it is inviting.

Functionally, the remodel addressed every challenge of the previous layout. The vinyl vault provides ergonomic, record-store–style access to a growing collection, while the listening room ensures optimal acoustics and comfort for enjoying music. Innovative solutions like custom cabinetry, concealed cord management, and acoustical wood-slat panels elevate the performance and usability of the space. A combination of careful structural work and expert craftsmanship ensured a flawless result. The space now functions as a true retreat, perfectly tailored to the client’s passion for music, entertaining, and everyday enjoyment.

Basement- Gold, All-Star & Best of Show

An interior wide shot of a newly remodeled, modern basement living room in Kansas City, designed for warmth and comfort. The focal point is a large entertainment wall featuring a mounted television above a long, custom-built console with dark forest green cabinetry. This is set against a striking floor-to-ceiling slatted wood accent wall, which cleverly integrates a hidden door for media storage. In the foreground, a spacious L-shaped light gray sectional sofa with decorative pillows anchors the room on a plush, light beige textured area rug. To the right of the sectional, a rounded brown swivel armchair adds a cozy seating option. Overhead, the ceiling features recessed lighting and a decorative exposed wood beam, adding to the room's character. The walls are painted a warm, light neutral tone, complementing the overall inviting and sophisticated aesthetic, perfect for family time or entertaining.

This basement transformation turned an unfinished lower level into a sophisticated, multi-functional extension of the home, perfectly balancing work, wellness, and family living. Key features include a semi-independent guest suite with a full bath and kitchenette, a light-filled home office with backyard views, and a warm, inviting main living area that mirrors the earthy tones and textures of the upper floors. The standout “Igloo” booth seating alcove adds both visual interest and functional charm, while engineered wood flooring, faux ceiling beams, and custom cabinetry create a cohesive, high-design aesthetic. Every detail, from lighting to hidden electrical panels, was carefully considered to make the space both practical and visually striking.

Functionality was dramatically enhanced, turning what was once storage into a flexible, multi-purpose basement that supports long-term family stays, daily work-from-home routines, and everyday living. Innovative solutions like rerouted ductwork, elevated ceiling planes, and engineered flooring addressed typical basement challenges, while expert craftsmanship—from precise drywall and carpentry to custom finishes—ensured a flawless result. The project’s creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail earned it a Gold, All Star AND Best of Show award, showcasing how a thoughtful, design-forward approach can elevate an ordinary basement into a truly remarkable, fully integrated part of the home.

Basement- Gold & All-Star

This basement remodel turned an unfinished lower level into a multi-functional retreat combining wellness, entertainment, and style. At its center is a spa-like suite with a reimagined sauna, steam shower, and cold plunge, designed for comfort and convenience. The space also features a fully equipped kitchen with a custom booth, a cozy living area with a striking TV wall, and a playful dress-up and craft room for the kids. Every detail, from walnut slatted walls and stone accents to padded vinyl flooring and layered lighting, was chosen to create a cohesive, inviting environment that balances practicality with style.

Functionality was dramatically improved. What was once storage now supports wellness routines, family gatherings, and entertaining with ease. Precision craftsmanship is visible in the custom sauna, cold plunge, floating TV ledge, and multi-tiered kitchen counters, while thoughtful materials like wood slats, stone veneer, and durable flooring make the space both beautiful and resilient. The result is a basement that serves as a true retreat. It's relaxing, engaging, and perfectly tailored to the family’s lifestyle.

Design and Plans- Gold

modern kitchen remodel in Lenexa kitchen with luxurious updated black and gold accents and a classic white kitchen feel with art deco inspired butler's pantry with statement teal cabinetry in that area

This whole-home remodel transformed a traditional suburban house into a modern, highly functional, and character-rich home tailored to the family’s lifestyle. Every decision balanced practicality with personality: the kitchen was reimagined with a large island, butler’s pantry, and optimized workflow; the laundry was relocated upstairs for convenience; the unused office became a moody lounge; and the main living areas, fireplaces, and staircases were updated to feel fresh, cohesive, and inviting. Strategic layout changes and thoughtful storage solutions made daily routines effortless, while careful attention to lighting, circulation, and material choices enhanced comfort throughout the home.

Aesthetically, the remodel brought bold, modern character to a 1990s house. Contrasting cabinetry, statement wallpapers, rich textures, and refined finishes were layered throughout to create visual interest and cohesion. Dramatic interior details, from the large-scale hearth room porcelain to the boutique-inspired lounge and striking butler’s pantry, combined with exterior updates like new French doors, a metal eyebrow roof, and bronze-clad windows to give the home a distinctive, contemporary presence. The result is a house that functions seamlessly, entertains effortlessly, and radiates personality and warmth, turning a dated suburban home into a truly modern, one-of-a-kind forever home.

Entire House- Gold

whole home remodel featuring a living room with large windows overlooking lake weatherby in kcmo with a contemporary feel and high design

This whole-home remodel honored the legacy of a striking Roger Kraft–designed modern home while thoughtfully updating it for a new family’s lifestyle. The goal was to preserve the home’s bold glass-and-brick architecture and clean lines while introducing warmth, color, and modern functionality. By opening the kitchen to the living area to rework the main floor layout, and updating spaces across all three levels, we transformed a once compartmentalized and dated interior into a cohesive, livable home that still feels true to its architectural roots.

Throughout the project, every design decision balanced respect for the original structure with contemporary living. Modern materials, updated lighting, and refined finishes were layered in to enhance flow, comfort, and usability without overpowering the home’s character. From the reimagined kitchen and primary suite to the vibrant basement and personalized bedrooms, each space now connects seamlessly to the next. The result is a home that feels modern, warm, and deeply personal. It's one that celebrates the home's history while fully supporting how the current homeowners live today.

Residential Bath- Silver & All-Star

"A classic and charming primary bathroom remodel, showcasing the full scope of the luxurious design with a wainscoted tub, glass shower, and rich wood double vanity. The room's light palette and traditional elements create a timeless retreat.

This primary bathroom remodel transformed a cold, dated space into a warm and inviting retreat that finally reflects the family’s vintage, English-inspired style. The biggest issue—temperature—was solved by addressing missing insulation behind the tub and shower and over the garage, dramatically improving comfort. Keeping the existing layout, we elevated every surface with thoughtful upgrades, including a custom cherry vanity, expanded shower, larger drop-in tub, and classic materials like honed Carrara marble and traditional wainscoting.

Beyond aesthetics, the remodel significantly improved day-to-day function. Added storage, safer tub access, a pocket door at the toilet room, and easier-to-clean materials made the space more practical and enjoyable to use. What was once an uncomfortable 1987 bathroom is now a cozy, timeless space that supports their routines, feels solidly built, and perfectly aligns with their personal style.

Residential Exterior Element- Gold

exterior home remodel with columns and blend of classic timeless design with modern sleek elements

This project transformed a dated, awkward front entry into a modern, functional focal point that improved comfort, flow, and curb appeal. Long-standing issues with cold drafts, a narrow entry, and an understated exterior were solved by widening the opening and upgrading the overall design, resulting in a space that feels welcoming, efficient, and well proportioned.

The aesthetic impact was equally as important. bold sleek black French doors, updated lighting, and modern house numbers created a clean, contemporary look that complements the home’s existing architecture while making the address clearly visible from the street.

Our skilled handyman team brought this vision to life, handling delicate structural work, precise brick removal, and refined finishing touches to ensure the new entry feels original to the home. The result is a warmer, safer, and visually striking entrance that exceeded the clients’ expectations—and impressed them enough to hire us for additional projects!

Residential Interior- Gold & All-Star

sleek modern glam classic black and white kitchen remodel in leawood kansas

This Overland Park main floor remodel reflects the clients’ decision to fully customize their home as their forever space. We began by transforming the kitchen and hearth area to match their sleek, modern style while solving major functional issues. The dark, dated kitchen was opened up by removing the peninsula wall, improving flow to the living and dining areas, and adding a large multifunctional island, double ovens for baking, and modern storage. A reworked back hall—once known as the “hall of doors”—now feels open and intentional, featuring a coffee bar and display shelving for the client’s décor.

The remodel also elevated the home’s overall aesthetic with bold, contemporary design and precise craftsmanship. A dramatic new fireplace feature wall anchors the main floor and ties into the kitchen’s black-and-white palette, waterfall-edge island, and full-height backsplash. Layered lighting, custom cabinetry, and refined materials bring cohesion throughout the space. The result is a streamlined, modern main floor that functions beautifully and reflects the clients’ lifestyle and design vision.

Residential Interior- Gold & All-Star

Luxurious dark green kitchen remodel Overland Park KS with marble countertops, gold accents, and crystal chandelier.

This main floor remodel transformed a segmented, outdated layout into a highly functional and cohesive space tailored to the clients’ love of cooking, organization, and modern design. The kitchen was completely reworked to improve flow, featuring a large half-rounded island with casual seating positioned to highlight the lake view. By moving the cooktop off the island, adding GE Café Line appliances, and incorporating custom deep charcoal cabinetry, the kitchen now supports efficient cooking while feeling elevated and welcoming.

Underused spaces were strategically repurposed to improve daily function. A former main-floor office became a luxury closet and laundry suite for her, while the old laundry room was converted into a walk-in pantry that reduces kitchen congestion. A custom mudroom and command center at the garage entry added organization and convenience. Thoughtful planning, strong craftsmanship, and consistent finishes throughout the main floor resulted in a home that looks polished and works seamlessly for the clients’ everyday life.

We loved celebrating alongside Andrea as she received her very first REMY award. Congrats to Andrea!

Residential Kitchen- Gold & All-Star

green earthy toned mossy moody olive green kitchen with stained white oak accents

This project transformed a dark, cramped kitchen into a bright, open space designed around how a young family lives. By removing the old U-shaped layout, we created room for a large custom island with seating, improved traffic flow with dual walkways, and made the kitchen a natural gathering place. Storage and functionality were upgraded with full-height cabinetry, deep drawers, and a reworked pantry wall that finally solved long-standing frustrations.

Rebuilt from the studs up, the kitchen now feels intentional and timeless. Widened doorways and new windows bring in more natural light and strengthen the connection to the covered porch, while warm wood tones, handcrafted tile, and brass accents give the space character without overwhelming it. The result is a kitchen that’s not just beautiful, it truly supports the family’s everyday life.

Residential Kitchen- Gold & All-Star

luxury double ovens in kitchen remodel perfect for holiday cooking and hosting

In this 1929 Kansas City Tudor, the kitchen was transformed to balance modern function with historic character. Opening the wall to the breakfast room, relocating appliances, and adding a Wolf cooktop island, wall oven, pantry storage, and a pocket-door powder bath created a more open, efficient layout. Durable materials—quartersawn white oak cabinetry, Typhoon Bordeaux granite, glazed brick backsplash, and terra cotta-look porcelain flooring—bring warmth and longevity while complementing the Tudor style.

The project showcases careful craftsmanship and creative problem-solving. Cabinets and countertops were installed with precision, hex tile flooring was thoughtfully laid, and venting for the cooktop was cleverly routed through the basement to preserve the stone foundation. Thoughtful features like appliance garages and coordinated finishes throughout the kitchen and powder bath create a cohesive, functional, and visually rich space that feels both authentic to the home’s era and perfectly suited to modern living.
