  • Congrats Joe Meagher, Steve Beck Shannon Washam, & Kyle Coelho on Becoming Certified Lead Carpenters

Last updated on September 22, 2023

We’re always proud when someone from our team decides to become certified in their field of expertise. It means they’ve put in the time and effort and want to take their skills to the next level. With that said we are extremely excited to share four of our team members, Joe Meagher, Steve Beck, Shannon Washam, and Kyle Coelho have become Certified Lead Carpenters (CLC)! The CLC is a certification from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

Certified Lead Carpenter

NARI Certified Lead Carpenters (CLC) are recognized as expert hands-on field professionals who oversee every on-site aspect of the project, such as personnel management, subcontractor management, scheduling, safety, administration, customer satisfaction, etc. while also working on the site.

The CLC program addresses the fundamentals of in-the-field project management:

  • Operational practices and procedures designed to maintain projects on time and on the budget for increased profitability
  • Personnel management for optimization of workflow
  • Navigating building codes and communicating with code officials
  • Interpersonal communication with clients and trade contractors
  • Capabilities of the various trades required on the remodeling project and how to determine if the work is performed correctly

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum of five (5) years continuous experience in the remodeling industry, with at least two (2) years as a lead carpenter

Joe Meagher

Joe is mainly self-taught through his curiosity and personal experiences. He says he’s had a lot of great mentors and experts help him along the way. Joe has experience in plumbing, electrical, painting, trim, drywall, tile, carpentry. One of his strengths is listening and understanding what the client’s needs are. Joe is very open-minded and works to understand others’ strengths and weaknesses so he can easily work well with them.

Joe worked in an art studio for many years and has built some crazy, and interesting projects. In his downtime, he likes to hang out with friends and his family.

Steve Beck

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electricity & Electronics from the University of Central Missouri. He is quite the Renaissance man. In addition to being a very talented craftsman he has extensive experience in home electronic systems, satellite and cable systems, is a BBQ Pitprimary, and an amateur astronomer.

When Steven isn’t utilizing one of his many talents he enjoys spending time with his wife Becky, two adult children, and his granddaughter. He enjoys cooking, reading, listening to music, working on autos, and even doing home projects for friends and family.

Shannon Washam

Shannon, a former military police officer, has been in the remodeling industry for more than 20+ years and has done just about everything. His experience has taught him to listen first and foremost when working with clients and let them know that you have their best interest at heart, NEVER over-promise and under-deliver.

He’s no stranger to building unique things. He was once asked to build a platform bed with the base being a dog’s kennel with fans, lights and speakers included. Perhaps his most farfetched request was when a client asked if they could leave their two African parrots to him in their will. That takes a homeowner/remodeler relationship to a whole new level!

Kyle Coelho

Kyle is lead certified, has experience welding and in training along with expertise in carpentry, woodworking, furniture making, and tile work. He focuses on getting to know a customer on a personal level to learn their likes and dislikes to truly understand their choice in design and helps him deliver the outcome they expect. Kyle works well with the rest of the Schloegel team for many reasons. He values everyone’s opinion and wants every voice to be heard.

In his downtime, he likes spending time outdoors hiking, camping, kayaking, and rock climbing. He’s even climbed Mt. Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous U.S., and also visited Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the U.S. all in the same trip! Kyle enjoys fitness and loves running and yoga. He also loves cooking, especially BBQ!

Help in congratulating Joe, Steve, Shannon, and Kyle!
